123 Press

Since it was first organized, Mason Publishing Group has published peer-reviewed scholarly monographs through the George Mason University Press. It subsequently added a lightweight publishing program for scholarly titles without peer review through its “Mason Publishing” imprint. Projects for this imprint come from within Mason or the immediate community. Examples include school histories, faculty-led student projects and projects by members of the community.

In 2025, the imprint name changed to “123 Press,” in reference to the state route that borders (at points) and intersects (at others) the Mason campus, to reflect the imprint’s orientation to Mason and its immediate community.
